LOL..I've played classical for ........42 years now. Yeh I can play the Cannon in D. but not like that.
Flat picking isnt really what I do best. The kids now a days have so much talent and such a vast level of materials to draw from. One might think he's a one trick pony but that level of playing has a lot of hours and many pieces behind it. Hopefully he can parly that talent into his wildest dream. |

Ok... so I commented on the kid playing shred Bach.... Run to the Hills was more my style of guitar playing. He is good and I like his taste. Its neat how well that translated to the acoustic guitar.
( Now you really understand why you need to cut me some slack.. Half the time on the server I still think I'm playing Freecell ) |

ACHILLES!!! did you even click on my link? This guy plays an Iron Maiden song on finger picked acoustic. His left hand technique is good, but it's his right hand that really stands out. He has a few other videos. I guess what really stands out is his enjoyment of the instrument. It doesn't look like exercise or work at all, he's totally into it.
Edit:
LMAO!!! You beat me to the punch _________________ I've got your back

While I lived in Chicago my sons drove up and we went and saw Iron Maiden headline a metal concert at the Tweeter center.
Imagine me; I was 53 then. All the kids were .......young. and the Goth look was everywhere.
Was fun. We had a good time and Iron Maiden stole the show. Though for my taste Ronnie James Dio was better. He still looks funny but what a voice. |

I saw that a month or so ago. I really like the last piece they showed. Crazy guitar. It looks like he has capos for individual strings.
It's amazing how far technique has come on the instrument. It seems like it was fairly static until the last 20 years or so, then took off into another dimension. Every time I think I've seen everything that can be done on the guitar, and somebody else comes along and redefines the instrument. I wonder where it'll all end up.
Here's 1 more

Michael Hedges was an awesome guitarist. I was specifically thinking of him when I mentioned guitar taking off 20 years ago.
I kind of lied. Here's 1 more video I found that's impressive on a whole different level. It's not the most technical playing you'll find, but the execution, spirit, and enthusiasm make up for the technical deficiencies.
