OK, so tell the truth - when this game came out, did you:

1) think it was abysmally stupid

2) play it a while and then got bored

3) played it with reckless abandon for hours on end, neglecting food, water, and general hygience

The funny thing is although I must've been very young at the time (~4-6 years old; circa 1980 or thereabouts -- a few years A.P. (that is, After Pong -- with this dating system we could say we are in the year 31 A.P. -- the year 31 After Pong, or even Anno Pongi = in the Year of our Pong)) my first exposure to the game resulted with me landing squarely in category #3: "3) played it with reckless abandon for hours on end"

Of course, with Coleco Vision and Zaxxon and Venture etc. I was doomed . . .

I never played it much in the arcade, but my Telstar arcade had pong which I played for hours on end Smilie

That reminds me, did anyone ever play Mortal Kombat (I think it was #3), where you could unlock Pong? We used to do that all the time!

For me and my age, my first addiction was Super Mario brothers. Before that, I was a G.I.Joe / Transformers fanatic.

the only time I played pong was atmy grandparent's, and that was cause Gameboy had not invented yet, and I HATED those cheesy Tiger style LCD games. I had trouble seeing the faint greyish black figures in those games. PONG however was crisp and clear, black and white! Smilie

I had an Atari 2600 that had pong, but I was too young to be hung up on the game. My big thing was Mario Brothers as well. I used to play that for hours on end.
