Here's a question for all who wish to answer: what resolution do you usually use while playing?

I normally use 1920x1200 but I was just trying out 1600x1200 and realized that I would have to get used to playing that way for a while before I would adjust. Coming from ~3:2 -> 4:3, ~ 1.6:1 -> 1.33:1 seems to make a pretty big difference. I'm accustomed to tall thin figures, playing at 4:3 made everyone seem short and fat. Seems it might be slightly easier to hit people at 4:3 if I could get used to it -- not sure if it's worth it though, since ut2k7 is coming out in only a couple more months and I've played at 3:2 for so long now . . .

Anyway, so answer up! What resolutions do YOU use or have you tried? Or, what aspect ratio do you prefer?

1024x768, it's easier to see your opponent across the map this way. I'm not into "eye candy", I prefer a high Frag per Second count.

I'm not laughing TC. My UT2004 is set at 1024x768, but I was a much better player back when it was at 800x600. It's not a framerate issue, it just seems easier to hit with the lightning gun at lower resolutions.

On my 19" Dell P992 CRT (circa 2002) I run 1024 x 768, 32 Bit, 85Hz refresh rate. My kids have a 19" Dell LCD monitor but the default res is actually a bit too small for my liking.

1024x768 at 100Hz on my 19" Samsung Syncmaster CRT. I've dropped it down to 800x600 a couple of times but I can't get used to it.

I cranked up my reso to 1024x768 a few minutes after I posted in this topic,..and it seemed I hit things more often.. so I goofed around with my mouse speed and viola' .. I went from mouse speed 7 to 3.5 and am nailing ppl much more often with hitscan stuff. Thumb

Now, if only I could reach some keys to weapon switch faster... damn leftiness.
